Helix Arts Falling on Your Feet is our dance and health programme with people aged 65+ who are living independently. We are currently working with talented dance artists in communities across the North East. Regular workshops lead to high quality co-choreographed pieces which can wow local audiences. Participants have fun, get fitter and make new friends!
Helix Arts Falling on your Feet has been awarded 3 years' investment from Dunhill Medical Trust and The Henry Smith Charity. We are entering the second year of investment April 2018.
Past programmes have taken place in West Denton, Wallsend, South Shields, North Shields and Sunderland. You can see media reports about our 2016 pilot programme in West Denton Community Centre in the Chronicle and on ITV Tyne Tees. You can also read an article on Falling on Your Feet in South Shields in the Shields Gazette.
As well as our current programme we have two new programmes starting from January 2018 and are looking forward to working with more venues, partners and groups over the next few months and years.
